Dr. Malynn, former Director of Women’s Health at the Chopra Center for Wellbeing in California, completed medical school, residency in Family Medicine, and a fellowship in Preventive Oncology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she is an honorary professor.  She co-directed the nation's first HMO-based Complementary Medicine and Wellness Center in Madison, WI and founded LifeWorks Integral, a center for holistic medicine and community outreach.  During her medical training, she did research and program coordination for heart health pioneer Dean Ornish, MD, of the Preventive Medicine Research Institute in Sausalito, CA.  She also completed advanced trainings with Andrew Weil, MD and James Gordon, MD in Integrative Medicine, Nutritional Medicine and Cancer Care.  Finally, she has been a contributor to the Integral Institute in Boulder, CO, led by philosopher Ken Wilber.  

She is double board-certified in Family Medicine and in Integrative and Holistic Medicine.

Prior to medical school, Dr. Utzinger completed a BA in English and Mass Communications, an MA in Linguistics, and post-graduate studies in Cultural Anthropology, all of which influence her approach to healing.
